We proudly adhere to our beloved traditional swing top bottle, despite its slightly more intricate handling. This iconic bottle has become synonymous with Brinks Beer on Crete and throughout Greece. Moreover, it effectively eliminates the excessive waste generated by countless crown caps.
Our beer was originally named “Rethymniaki”, but unfortunately we were forced to change it after a decade due to Greek legislation prohibiting the use of geographical locations as a beer name or trademark. However, the company name remained unchanged and is still “Rethymnian Brewery S.A.”. We shifted our focus to the name of the founder/owner family of the brewery, and hence forth used Brink’s as our Brands name. We believe in standing tall for our beer and ensuring its unparalleled quality with our name. Our name is not just on the label, it's a guarantee of excellence.
Brink's has established itself as a brand name for our beer, thanks to our successful campaigns such as Brink me a Beer, Brink's Freshness. Old fans however will still refer to Brink’s as Rethymnian Beer. We take pride in our connection to the city we call home and our passion for brewing high-quality beer. That’s why we felt that it's time to stronger emphasize our connection to our home city. After all, a beer needs a home, and we are proud to call Rethymno, Crete ours.
In 2022, we made the bold decision to refresh our label, using the dolphin framed by the year of our founding, 1999. Our brand name, “Brink's”, is now accompanied by the Greek tagline "Η ΡΕΘΕΜΝΙΩΤΙΚΗ ΜΠΥΡΑ”, which translates to "The Rethymnian Beer". The red used on the label is inspired by the columns at Knossos palace, and a nod to the island's rich history. Our new logo is separated from the rest of the label by a wavy line, reminiscent of the waves in the Mediterranean surrounding Crete. We take pride in our new label and are confident that it will continue to represent our commitment to brewing exceptional beer in Rethymno.
We are among the first companies in Greece which were awarded the prestigious “Quality and Ethos” award by the “Gastronomos” magazine of the Kathimerini greek newspaper.
